The 4 Pillars

The 4 Pillars

The philosophy of Wellness & Purpose relies on the use of 4 main pillars which we believe are the key to a healthier, happier and fulfilled life.

These are: a Cognitive Behavioural Life Coaching approach for mental well-being, the implementation of daily exercise and good nutrition for physical wellness and  guidance on how to achieve financial independence which in turn will allow us work less and concentrate more on what is important in our lives.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL LIFE COACHING APPROACH

We grow up with beliefs about who we are, about other people and the world we live in. These are called Core Beliefs. They determine how we perceive ourselves and to what degree we feel, worthy, competent, powerful, successful, beautiful and someone to be loved.

It is very important to understand what core beliefs we hold about ourselves as negative, unhelpful or unfounded beliefs can be extremely damaging to our self-acceptance and self-esteem. They can be poisonous to the way we view the world and life events and detrimental to our mental and emotional health.

Core Beliefs are used in the Cognitive Behavioural approach as a first step to understand who we truly are and not what we wrongly or inaccurately grew up believing. They are also very valuable in order to comprehend our life choices and allow us to make better and more informed ones in the future.

At the heart of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the owning of more accurate and healthy positive beliefs about ourselves, the people around us and the world we live in, which will bring more positive effects on our lives and lead us to a healthier existence.

The aim of Wellness & Purpose is to equip you with some of the tools used in the CBT approach together with Life Coaching techniques to empower and enable you to unlock your own mental well-being.

EXERCISE

It is common knowledge that exercising is good for us and that being physically active brings health benefits. It would be fair to say that keeping active and being fit is one of the simplest and most effective golden tips for physical well-being, yet one of the most overlooked, underutilized and often completely disregarded recommendations.

When we commit to paying expensive gym memberships (often failing to follow through with it) we  forget that to exercise all we need is our willingness. Exercising does not need to cost a fortune and activities such as walking, not only are free, but have also been shown to be very effective to our level of fitness even when compared to other physical activities.

At Wellness & Purpose we want to show you that being active brings a huge increase in benefits against being inactive and that it can make a enormous difference between physical autonomy and physical dependency later on in life. We also want to provide you empirical evidence on how exercising positively affects the brain and how it can slow the progression of diseases and even prevent them.

NUTRITION

Food is an important and vital fuel to our bodies. There is a general understanding and findings that prove that paying attention to what we eat is also important in terms of how it can benefit or compromise our health. It is hence no surprise that food has long been used to improve and cure some conditions or chronic diseases.

In our day and time there is undoubtedly a lot of interest in nutrition and diets. The trouble is, it is not easy to identify who is actually providing well researched data based on scientific evidence and who is just offering their own opinions based on their own interpretation of sources that not always are reliable. Misinformation and misdirection provided by wanna-be-gurus and a multi-million dollar industry can then become overwhelming.

The aim of Wellness & Purpose is to provide you with the empirical evidence on the importance of having a varied and mostly plant based diet that will nourish the body and mind and even heal or worsen a condition.

FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE

We have become accustomed to living in a society that has long been brainwashed into believing that we all want the same: a career, getting married, buying a house, starting a family… Is it really possible, though, that 7.53 billion people in this world today all want the same?

We have also been indoctrinated into believing that we need to work five days a week and cleverly groomed into some sort of modern slavery: we live to work and not work to live. To reinforce this conduct in us, we are constantly bombarded by effective advertising making us want more of everything: a newer jacket, a bigger TV, a better car, a more fabulous house. Unfortunately, only to become more and more a slave to our dependency on our job. We seek more and more material things that bring us a temporary happiness and in doing so we have lost the true meaning of life.

At Wellness& Purpose we want to help you understand what are the important things in your life  and how to turn this to your advantage in terms of financial independence.
